Biography

Born in Brazil, Kleber D. Gonçalves has served the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the areas of publishing work, church planting, pastoral ministry, and teaching. After the conclusion of his graduate studies at Andrews University, in 2005, he accepted a call from Sao Paulo Conference, Brazil, to start the New Seed SDA Church, a church-planting project focusing on secular/unchurched people, where he worked as its founding and Senior Pastor for more than 10 years. In 2015 he accepted a call from Andrews University to serve as an Associate Professor in the Department of World Mission. Shortly after he was appointed as the director of the Doctor of Ministry Program at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary. Concomitantly, he was also serving the world church as the director of the Global Mission Center for Secular and Postmodern Studies (CSPS), Office of Adventist Mission, at the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. In the beginning of 2020, Dr. Gonçalves transitioned full-time as CSPS director. Areas of particular interest to him are urban mission, church planting, and discipleship. He is married to Nereida C. Gonçalves, a Bolivian-born registered nurse, and they have three children: Isabella (18), Nichollas (16), and Gabriella (13)
